175 Cowling

I have a 1960 175 which is in the process of having the front end rebuilt. I am trying to find out if a 58-59 cowling, upper & lower, will fit. Would appreciate any feed back. Thank you.

I saw this on E bay today. It looks like a straight 175 vs a 175 a cowl. Don't know if it is what you need though.

Thanks Jim, this is what brought up the question, this cowl looks great compared to mine, I'm also told that the O-470 won't fit in a 175A cowl. like a 58 or 59.

I don't know if it can be made to fit (probably not since the 175A engine sits 3 inches higher than the 175) but it shure looks like a good price. Francois Cote' up in Canada has a 1960 cowling for sale, I think he wanted $2500 or best offer. I don't know if that was US or Canadian $. His contact and a couple pics are on the classifieds page of C175.net.

Looks like a complete 172 XP cowl can be modified very easy to work with the IO-360 Cont.
